SPort has always been a big part of Dat's life. Growing up, he trained competitively in badminton and played soccer for several years. He later studied exercise and sports science before moving into physiotherapy at the University of Tasmania.
Before getting into health and physiotherapy, Dat also worked in accounting, so he knows what it’s like to spend long days sitting behind a desk. Having experienced both sides, he enjoys working with everyone from office workers wanting to move and feel better to people looking to get back into the gym or return to sport.
Dat also knows what it’s like to be on the other side of rehab, having gone through three ACL reconstructions himself(!). That experience has given him a personal understanding of the ups and downs of a long-term rehab journey and what it takes to work towards getting back to the things you enjoy.
As a physio, Dat likes taking an active approach to rehab, using exercise and progressive loading to help people get stronger and more confident with movement. He also likes making sure people understand what’s going on and why they’re doing certain things as part of their rehab.
Fun Facts:
Outside of work, Dat is usually doing something active.
He enjoys gym training, futsal, hiking and will happily give pretty much any sport a go.
He’s also a bit of a coffee nerd, so when he’s not training or playing sports, there’s a good chance he’s making coffee or looking for a good one.
